I agree that pressure and creative, intelligent feinting definitely helps.
The first thing you need is a good jab. The shoulder roll is designed to protect you on the inside. So you need to use the jab to create space so you can get your combonations off.

Chavez' chief sparring partner for years. He had a consistent jab, and most of his stuff came OFF of the jab, he did so many things right in there. Jabbing up and down, hooking off of the jab, feinting the jab and ****ing rights to the body.

      Totally underestimated fighter.

I haven't watched the fight in months. What I remember is Castillo feinting Floyd to the ropes. It was mostly Floyd doing the jabbing.

nvm I just rewatched the first round. You're right Castillo made use of his jab to cut down distance

          Floyd's hook was real live

Loved Castillo. Beat Casa, Corrales, could have gotten the decision against Floyd, beat Lazcano, Julio, Johnston....damned good resume.

They work but they need to be perfectly timed right hook ain't really anything unless its monstrous because if you take that punch the other person will most likely put them self in position to get with a counter right hook uppercut or straight. Over hand right are tough to land cause you can roll those off. So really only the uppercut and straight left are super effective.

Doubt you'll keep that up if you get hit with enough of these.
