if HBO puts on better fights they will be ok. Between manny/jmm 5 and chavez/martinez 2 I think combined those fights sell about the same as floyd/cotto did. HBO doesn't need anymore stars-it needs better fights. I hope WCB and BAD are improved as well. HBO can build around broner, chavez jr (not really reliable right now) and ward. The kessler/froch fight will be great. the only loss is floyd/canelo, if both are undefeated-will be the biggest selling fight this year.I don't see how this helps HBO at all, in the fact they are losing a ton of money with this deal.
Showtime is giving up dates for whatever GPB and Haymon wants. This is the reward for having no say in matchmaking and being a pawn, all in all it worked out for Espinoza. Expect even worse matchmaking this year on Showtime.
SHowtime overpaid for floyd but they need credibility and floyd is still widely regarded as the best fighter in the world. But I hope their fights dont suffer. frankly, they've been putting on better fights than HBO for a while and signing floyd only expands their options.Comment

......So.......HBO was trying to be Floyd's promoter.....the television network? aahhahahahhahahaha.....i love you people smhMy guess is that HBO was putting the pressure on him to face certain fighters in order to pay him the big $ and Floyd didn't like it. U have to understand HBO's position. They can't dish out millions upon millions for mediocre comp that's not guaranteed to bring in the big bucks. If they let Floyd slip away then I'm sure it was for a good reasonComment
