I'm not too fond of long term network deals for fighters. Good for Floyd, I do like the prospect of him fighting that many more times...but if he's signed for 6 fights....3 or 4 I could see realistically happening, the best fight is obviously going to be on the ass end of the deal, so will there be 2-3 crap fights that no one cares about, until we get a Canelo/Trout, Martinez type fight?

His pay still comes from PPV revenue so he'll be still looking for big $$$ fights.

My guess is that HBO was putting the pressure on him to face certain fighters in order to pay him the big $ and Floyd didn't like it. U have to understand HBO's position. They can't dish out millions upon millions for mediocre comp that's not guaranteed to bring in the big bucks. If they let Floyd slip away then I'm sure it was for a good reason

What are you talking about? HBO didn't pay Mayweather, he paid them by giving them a % of each PPV sold.

He fought Josesito Lopez on Showtime, but before that he fought Cintron, Rhodes, Hatton, and Mosley on HBO.
