When does Trout really get trapped in the corner though? He's very good at spinning off the ropes, and actually turning his opponent into the ropes. The thing is though, when Trout does get trapped he's not afraid to tie up his opponent and forcing the ref to break them.

    I agree, Chiefy.

I can see it too, however I can't see him getting a fair decision from the judges if he does.

Agreed. I see Canelo much like JCC, they both need their opponents to stand in the pocket and trade for them to shine. Yes, Canelo will probably never stop coming forward - but I can see Trout constantly circling, popping his jab and taking advantage of the times Canelo is in defense mode. I see Canelo gassing very early, and looking somewhat lost without a plan B. Trout definately needs to focus on the body for the first half of the fight and give very little focus or energy to head shots IMO.

Not to say I don't think it will be a competitive fight but I can very much see this fight going a lot like Martinez vs JCC. I also believe Trout has an underrated chin because he can take a hellofa punch. It will be interesting to see how he takes Canelo's power though.

But ofcourse Cotto is shot and Canelo isn't.

      But it still can happen.
Can we get a poll? so I can vote no.

I think Trout wins in a clear yet closely contested fashion. People are looking past him even after he beat Cotto.

Canelo is going to hurt this dude early. Watch. He's going to hurt him early and when it happens unless he gets stopped Trout will want nothing to do with him the rest of the fight. It's going to be a good night of boxing fellas can't wait.

As the fight gets closer I'll take some bets why not I don't really use the points and I know the plug to the points anyway.

If Trout doesn't make Alvarez look silly, and the fight is even remotely close, he won't win.

also, i don't know why people keep raving about canelo's power as if he's this HUGE puncher...who did he KO that was in their prime and a natural junior middleweight? answer = NOBODY ... hell he couldn't even knockdown mosley who was previously knockdown by a 148lb pacquiao... and trout easily ate some flush and hard left hooks from miguel cotto. also mosley himself said that alvarez hits about as hard as a ww floyd ...so i don't see how alvarez can significantly hurt or even stop trout who is in his prime and a natural jr middleweight.

The thing is, does Canelo even have a plan B? Can he execute his plans? Canelo never been in this stage, never faced anyone like Trout. Is Canelo gonna be able to adjust? Is he gonna be able to do the things he needs to do with such little experience? Sure he has 40 bouts but no one like Trout.

Thanks for the offer to bet. These points were a gift so I use them carefully. I have never bet points before. I want to make a small bet with Bushbaby but just that Canelo wins not that he must win by KO. Trout is a very good fighter and possibly the best 154 pounder in the world. I am betting cash on Canelo but only that he wins the fight any way he can.
