Comments Thread For: Devon Alexander Talks Further on Mayweather and Brook

IBF welterweight champion Devon Alexander (24-1, 13KOs) has been a pretty popular figure in the boxing press for the last two weeks. Alexander withdrew, due to injury, from a scheduled fight with mandatory challenger Kell Brook. But, the following day WBC champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. made a statement on Twitter which named Alexander as "the frontrunner" to fight him on May 4th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The sequence of events raised a lot of questions.

He's not. He is just answering questions that the guys asked him on the sky broadcast. This is the 2nd article by the same guy, about the same thing, we saw live on Sky.

****.... now we got to go from Floyd was ducking Guerreo, back to cherry picking Guerreo.

Floyd is making us haters so angry. We can't make up our mind. Please Floyd, tell us who you are fighting so we can bash them.

To be fair Paulie was calling him out last year after the Maidana fight.

Floyd Mayweather sending out a tweet was the best thing that ever happened to Alexander's career.

So at this point is Mayweather/Alexander dead in the water or not?

Nobody seems to know the answer. Alexander said he's signed to fight Brook but it just seems that he's saying that to avoid backlash.

It's weird because he says things like "I'm obligated to fight Brook", but then basically says if he's offered a Floyd fight he'd take it.
