Would Lennox Lewis have knocked James Toney out?

Say if Toney had come up a couple years earlier and fought Lewis around the time he was fighting Tua and Tyson

Would Lewis have knocked him out, or just beat him up for 12 rounds?

    Lennox knocks him out.

Thankfully Toney's boxing career is now over.

At that time wasn't Toney still at light heavy/cruiserweight?

Toney though old now, back then he would have gone the distance.

          Lewis by KO.

Toney was never a good heavyweight, he's just a smaller man who got lazy and fat.

Yes, he was never a real HW, but that defence was still a work of art at that point. He wouldn't have got hit clean too often, and even when he did, his chin was more than solid.

I think Lewis could have stopped him, his uppercuts were a killer. Perfect punch when fighting a much smaller opponent.
