DAVID PRICE insists this is not the worst era in heavyweight history and has vowed to bring back the excitement.

Critics have slammed the current crop of heavyweights as the worst ever, while the nine-year dominance of champions Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko has turned off many fans, especially in America.

But unbeaten British champion Price, 29, has defended the brothers and claims he is part of a new generation who will shake up the scene.

Price got it right, it´s not the Klitschko brothers´ fault they are better than the rest. But it´s also true that the HW division will be more exciting after the Klitschkos retire, assuming the top contenders will finally stop avoiding each other.

Price is wrong. Outside of the Klits the division is the worst it's ever been.

Of course the fighters in the division will disagree because they are the ones being discredited. LOL

Sounds good that Price wants a couple more fights after Thompson. He's a realist, unlike Fury. Price needs a real test or two and learn a bit more.

The real problem is that Price, Fury, Pulev etc just wont fight each other so we can´t even say how good they are. And it´s pointless to compare these giants with HWs before because size does matter, even if your wife tries to convince you it doesn´t.

It's not that bad, there are some good up and comers. As Price says, when Vitali retires and there's only one Klitschko left, it will get more open and Wlad will get some good fights. The division is about to get better.

he said he'd be ready in a year...and two more fights

I take it he won't be as active this year as he was last year? that's really too bad but then again he is taking a step up in competition

the sooner price arrives the better...the klits are great heavyweights but no emerging challenger has posed a threat to them in years...I don't think fury will be an exception, wilder has the physical tools but is being brought along very slowly and pulev might surprise us

Price isn't doing himself any favours. He should dump Maloney and jump ship to MatchRoom. He also needs to be fighting 5/6 times a year.

There's no way he's ready for Wladimir in 1/2 fights. Not a chance. His footwork is poor, guard dodgy, and stamina unproven.

                  Too many questions...

yeah Price isn't ready yet for Wlad. Needs a bit of fine tuning

Also, noone knows what his chin is like yet. he has never taken a clean power punch off anyone of value so it will be interesting to see how he reacts when a decent big HW twats him in the jaw haha
