If you don't want to see black American fighters being the best in the world then limit yourself to watching the weak heavyweight division, Adolf.

Broner did just fine...I saw nothing that makes me think he can't and won't live up to the hype...BUT...he may have to evolve his game to use his legs more to stay on the outside more with smaller pressure fighters. Great experience for him to have before going against someone like Rios.
Broner's jab is lazy, and he leaves it out there too long. He needs to work on a stronger jab, so he doesn't have to get into as many fire fights.
It will be his down fall at 140 and higher.

A couple of things. He's still young, yes he got caught a lot and he still stayed in the pocket and got a very game fighter out of there. He'll get better, much better.

He's still young. Maybe it's possible he didn't have his best night and still got a very game fighter out of there and was able to take some good shots and still stay in the pocket. I think we're sometimes to quick to dismiss fighters, especially when they're young and still learning their craft. He's extremely gifted and he has some dog in him, meaning when he gets hit, he doesn't retreat...he fires back. I say cut him some slack, he's still very young.Last edited by switchsouthpaw; 02-17-2013, 01:54 AM.

I don't see the Mel Taylor comparison, either. Broner is a bigger puncher. Prime Taylor was one of the fastest fighters I have ever seen in his prime. Not in the same league, speed wise.
