it may have not, but it makes narvaez more acceptable of an opponent than rees...donaire couldn't make the fights with moreno or mares, so they go for the next best thing which is the #1 guy and wbo champ at 115lbs..nothing wrong there.

you are giving donaire way too much credit for "trying". why is it that TR can never make the best fights but are always trying to?

The people like you that said Naervaez was acceptable are doing so because you like Nonito. Thats essentially the TS point. You guys overlook the size factor and try to use experience to justify what was always going to be a one sided beat down. well rees is more experienced than broner. Yet the size thing isn't mitigated.

And that's usually the case for Broner, and Mayweather detractors. I'm not even a huge fan of them but it's pretty transparent to the two facedness they are up against.

consider the opposition. Rees was never truly a champion.

but again, it's hard to knock a guy for staying active while he chases the better fights in the division. there's been nothing yet to suggest Broner doesn't want the other top guys at LW after DeMarco.

it's no lie that moreno priced himself out and it's no lie that mares was caught up in an agbeko rematch...these are the facts. so donaire vs narvaez was the next best option..of course it's not as great of a matchup as moreno or mares, but what was he to do? just take the rest of the year off?

and rees is not more experienced than broner when it comes to the WORLD championship level...rees is just a euro bum who also happens to be considerably smaller than broner..whereas narvaez was a PROVEN world class fighter and undefeated..

priced himself out isnt a fact thats your opinion. even if both were facts it doesn't make nonito naervaez any better of a fight, especially considering the size difference.

Donaire and Narvaez had long overlapping stints at 112 and 115. Donaire had only moved up to 118 a year earlier. Was he too big for Narvaez the whole time?

its funny to see a guy get flak for fighting a guy that was a champ at a weight class higher than the weight they are fighting at most of the time people hate on fighters for fighting guys coming up in weight
