He had the physical tools. He was just lacking in the heart and will department. Take Nelson and Quartey for instance. Those two dudes had even more skills, but had the heart to go along with it. Especially Nelson.

Clottey should have won against Baldomir, Margarito, Cotto, and should have put in a good tough fight against Pac but he folded mentally in all of them.

Bit sad really. I was a very vocal supporter. Nelson and Quartey two of my favourite fighters and I had high hopes for Clottey.

          from CLotteys twitter page

          "Joshua Clottey ‏@GMASTERCLOTTEY

when you stay out of the ring for a while you get rusty so I have been jogging a lot and going to the gym once in a while to throw hands."

Doesnt exactly fill you with confidence that hes making a real come back.

He was a very good fighter if you ask me, just couldn't live with extreme workrate. He picked Judah apart impressively when he was still good and relevant. He was a massive welterweight also which made him tough work for anyone, even Pacquiao was pretty busted up.

This was back in early 2010. Maybe their respect has changed since the Pac fight?

Good fighter, could have been a lot better. I think he's done now. He hasn't fought in a long ass time and no one is begging for him to come back. He had an uncanny ability to **** up fights he was either winning or could have won.
