Giving the Champ more money can give more worth to the belts,
I doubt they will pay a Champ is alot of money to fight lesser oppents (I think, atleast) or maybe its a bad idea, because nobody wants to see them and people would lose money.

The Champ. The Challenger is getting a chance to win the belt. The champ has earned the right to make that kind of money.

        It depends on the situation.

An example would be Hatton vs Tszyu, Tszyu should get paid the most because he's without the top fighter at 140, a genuine world champ.

Hatton vs Harris, even though Harris holds the WBA he should get less because he cant sell tickets and didnt beat a credible opponent to win his title.

Unless your DLH, then you will get the most no matter what.

Lacy didnt earn the right to be a world champ, he's only fought one decent fighter in his very short career.

Gatti beat Branco to win his belt, thats not earning it.

not all champs should be classed as genuine, its the division number 1 who should get the respect and money.

Your right it's all situational...however I have to lean toward the draw as opposed to the champ...

Look at Hopkins and his fight with Morradde Hakkar..he made 600K, thats it...why should a guy like Oscar who can make 10million for fighting you or me have to take less then a guy who can't draw or earn **** without you...

David Reid was the champ at 154 when he was challenged by Tito...should Reid have gotten the biggest purse? Like you said above it is situational...

What I would like to see is in huge payperview cards have the contract already set in stone in a way...going in both fighters know that the winner will recieve 60% and the loser will recieve 40%(keep in mind only in mega fights like Hopkins/Oscar...VK v. Lennox)...

If the fights has great numbers then that money could be allocated differently in the contract probably favoring whoever the real draw was but the winner should take a bit more than the loser and that should be a universal thing in super fights.
