DC, I think you are underestimating the impact the notion of Floyd's abilities diminishing may have on him. We're talking about a perfectionist. I am in no way saying that Floyd did not convincingly win that fight...but he still showed some signs of diminished ability. If he was sick, that could explain it and my entire hypothesis may be baseless. But I doubt it.

Flint, i'm just an objective fan. I'm a fan of Pacquiao and Mayweather...more of Mayweather actually.

The only thing from the fight I took from it was Floyd wasn't as accurate as usual because he threw more punches and instead of throwing precise punches. He's 36 as each day goes by he will decline more.

Only thing showed us is hes a fncking moron as usual. You wanna show us something dumbass...get in the rinf with a real opponent. Not a cherry picked scam....If he did fight who others wanted him to fight we would see better fights. At least people can now know that Floyd is the reason he is a coward and fights the shlt fights that he does. Its all on Floyd...the master of Cowardism!

I struggle with the "Floyd is a coward" claims when this guy has taken fights like Corrales, Gatti, Hatton, Mosley and even Ortiz all at very strong points in their careers (except Gatti). But as I said, I don't know if today's Floyd is that confident anymore.

Floyd was sick and had an injured left hand for the Cotto fight
Personally I think Floyd is going to take a decent opponent in may and a strong one later in the year
I think people are reading too much in to it
Floyd had 3 big options last year for this upcoming date
              Pacquiao Martinez and Alvarez
              Pacquiao got knocked out
Martinez despite his talk has shown no interest in dropping to 154 and is fighting in April anyway
Alvarez is most likely lined up as the second fight this year as it is deemed he needs to do more to deserve the fight
Floyds options are pretty ****ty at the moment
Don't get me wrong Alexander is not a fight I want but is it that much worse than Guerrero really?
The only one that stands out is Marquez and its possible that fight happens but boxing fans are in no rush to see it after the one sided beat down nearly 4 years ago

Floyd fears no fighter but he is at a point where fights are seen as business ventures more than sport

that's nice but look at the guys he refused to fight. if the ravens refused to play the 49ers, patriots, and broncos would they be the best? no, but in boxing it's bizarro world. you can beat the browns, bengals, and jets and still be the best because you are popular! or according to floyd fans if the browns are coming off a good win they are suddenly great? no they are still the browns! just like mosley was still shot and ortiz was still crap! floyd knows this. he's a master at tricking small minded people who can't remember events that happened more than 6 months ago.

I can believe this. It's almost like the media and boxing community has assigned Guerrero and Canelo as his opponents for 2013 without Mayweather ever acknowledging it. He very well may feel if that if he fights both of these guys as laid out, he is relinquishing some power.
Mayweather doesn't just fight who he wants, the television companies have to co-sign any chosen opponent. If they don't think the public will buy it, it doesn't go PPV.
