Does this mean that PAC was a fool for fighting someone other than Mayweather for a lot less money?
You are trying to apply logic to Arum press statements. It will never work. Take whatever BS Arum says with a grain of salt.

He will literally die before he could possibly spend the rest of his money so why does he always pinch pennies instead of making the fights fans want to see? It disgusts me that he wouldnt want to leave behind a legacy and die knowing he gave fans the fights they wanted.

Do the math, if he lives another 5 years and spends 200 million in that time (in which he wont even come close to being broke) he would be able to spend $109,000 A DAY, EVERY DAY for 5 YEARS..... and never go bankrupt.

Your prejudice plainly shows. You're referring to a man who has been the top boxing promotor for the past 30-40 years, has a global reach, and has given us the most historic fights of the past two generations. If you think that a wily old Harvard Summa Cum Laude Law graduate, who was the head of Robert Kennedy's Tax Division is NOT "astute" then....you are not sharp enough to know what that makes YOU.....

The same conclusion that Marquez was "negotiating" was come to by more than one of the better writers for this site, either Reeno or Rold, (possibly both) and I suppose he was wrong too.

Like Marquez said "what would he get out of the 5th fight" Apart from money! Hope it does happen but don't think Marquez wants to fight. He hated chasing Pac for the 3rd and 4th. Little bit of pay back on his part

Do you think that EVERYTHING revolves around how much money a person is able to SPEND in a lifetime???? Oscar himself has stated publicly on TV that his MAIN ambition is to become a billionaire, that he was getting there, but not there yet...... Is he a greedy so-and-so as well?? You should have seen the silly, simpering expression on his face.

              Boy oh Boy, you're a mathematicl genius...undiscovered, so-far

Whassamarra?? The guy is in business and he brings us the best fights he can make . He pays his fighters more generously that any other promoter, and has made many millionaires. Other than Mayweather and Oscar-both -jealous-dogs-in-a manger- you can rarely if ever, find a fighter who has anything but good to say of Top Rank. They promoted most of the Ali fights. Hagler was there from beginning to end of career, and many others.

Arum is probably the most generous and philantropic of all the promoters. He gives largely to charities without any publicity. I just accidentally happened to find out this a nuumber of years ago. His wife has founded several charitable foundations and they both pour money into them.

I have a suggestion since you are fixated on spending money. Why not go after Warren Buffet and Bill Gates, maybe Carlos Slim too, they have REAL money, and a million people couldn't spend it in their lifetimes.

You Arum haters are all crazy.

Maybe just for the money obviously if there is a fifth fight it won't be as good as the other ones the fourth one was the best by far but pacquiao won't be the same fighter he won't be as aggressive and will be reluctant to attack that's his strong point Marquez will stop him again arum don't care about the well being of pacquiao but you got to respect arum he's gangsta... All about the money.

I saw that fight at the time. Didn't realise it was so long ago already. They were hammer and tongs at one another, and if I recall correctly, the two fathers jumped into the ring when the fight was over and had a battle with each other. Full of CAR-NI-VAL spirit.....
