Actually, I wouldn't mind putting money down on Chaves when/if they make it and release the odds

Just another BS opponent! What top ten contender has this kid beaten?
NO One! his best win is against a 44/10/3 guy from S.A.! Hand picked by the WBA for yet another garbage bout! This kid is pretty well schooled but makes mistakes in every frame of the video. He falls over his front foot almost every time he moves forward, not a good thing! If Paulie can't handle this kid he needs to retire! Ray.

He beat the interim champ (some people above me said his name)
Not sure how the WBA system works... but I think the interim is the number 1 challenger
You' re right. And they want to establish, fight for the interim belt = eliminatory

I hate this mentality of who has he beat ??

He beat the WBA Interim champion which entitles him to fight for the full title, how are young up and coming fighters ever suposed to get their shots when morons like you are always calling for attractive but less competitive fights with well known fighters.Would you have preferred to see Paulie fight Shane Mosley?I hear Maidana is calling for the fight but what has he done at welterweight, beaten Soto Karass?Get the **** outa here.....

This will be a good competitive fight against a hungry young contender

These are the tough fights that make champions

              Not recycled bull****

Chaves can punch and Paulie can't. An overweight Cano got to him eventually, and I think Chaves would too. Paulie still has the experience to win, but I don't think he has the legs.

It's the WBA, they have like 4 champions at a time and champions who don't even need to defend for a whole year

So if Paulie doesn't fight this kid, he looses his belt right? That's really the only bargaining chip Malignaggi has at this point it seems. Can't see Paulie wasting his twilight fights on some no name up and comer with no financial benefit. At this stage in Paulie's career, I can't see him and GBP wasting valuable fighting time with virtually no monetary gain, to fight an unknown Mandatory. All though Paulie seems to be all about having a belt for leverage. It'll be interesting to hear what they decide to do.

Chaves is garbage. Cano is a much better fighter, Paulie should be able to handle him without to much problems. Even Senchenko would handle Chaves IMO.
