Hang on a minute, wasn't Todd Foster a Lightweight?? So Chris Byrd must of been a Lightweight at 18 years old, but then a Heavyweight five years laterOriginally posted by ICEMAN JOHN SCULLYI was in the 1988 olympic trials with Chris... he lost to Todd Foster
I smell chemicals. That's almost as dodgy as Roy Jones winning the 1984 National Junior Olympics at Bantumweight (at 16-17 years old) and later becoming Heavyweight Champion of the World.

in his career, did a good job of it too imo, not bad for a light middleweightComment

NO, Roy won the national juniors at age 15 in 1984... then he went to 139 in 1986 and 156 the following year. Chris Byrd was 139 in 1988 and he lost in the olymic trials to Todd Foster. tHEN IN 1992 he was up to 165. Michael Moorer fought at 156 in 1986 (at the same tournament that RJ was 139) and Moorer split two decisions with future 168 pound champion Sven Ottke.Comment
