He is still upset that Oscar and Mayweather left Top Rank and made a lot of money without him
More so he pissed that Oscar painted the blueprint for real future stars to follow.

The talk about Arum not liking that Golden Balls makes money etc, is just basic ignorance of the lowest order. Arum is ***ish, he and his wife are enormous contributors to all kinds of charitiies, and keep several going single handed, He's anything but a money hungry guy, he's a philantropist. The accusations are stereotyped ***-hatred. He makes huge paydays for his fighters, more than any other promoter.

Some of the things posted above are correct, but let me add that Oscar had a driving greed to become a billionaire, it's his greatest desire, and I once heard him admit it on TV. So he wants to collect the top earning fighters. He's inclined to believe that his "charm" can woo fighters away from their contracts with other promoters. He did this with Manny Pacquiao, whom he waylaid at the airport after an 18 hour plane trip. he also tried it with Donaire, and, I believe with a couple of top fighters under other promoters. His antagonism is towards Top Rank because they have what he wants, to be the premier promoter.

This is the Pacquiao story; At the airport, the guy was dead on his feet, but Oscar insisted on buying him dinner, and Pacquiao was too polite to refuse. He had his lawyer with him, Oscar urged Pacquiao to sign with him, and as Pacuiao later related, he kept telling him he couldn't, and he wanted to go to bed. Oscar produced a large sum of money, and forced it on Pacquiao. His lawyer told him that even if he signed it isn't legal. The reason was, as Arum later explained, because in his Top Rank contract, which, incidentally had not yet expired, there was a clause that forbade Pacquiao from talking contracts with another promoter without the permission of Top Rank. Pacquiao's lawyer knew this, and they just wanted to get away so he signed. When Arum explained the real situation to Golden Balls , they sued, , not Pacquiao mind, but Top Rank, accusing them of tortuous interference. This of course was a laugh.

The result was, that they settled for Golden Balls to have a tiny (repeat tiny read it was much below 3%) percentage of Pacquiao's net purse (presumably one of the reasons why his guarantee is so low) whenever he fought a Golden Balls fighter. This was the original agreemrnt published. Arum said he preferred it that way, because it would be far cheaper than the expected huge legal fees and some judge might hold up Pacquiao's career until it was settled.

When Pacquaio sued Oscar and Golden Balls over the PEDS accusation, Oscar eventually had a breakdown and hid in a sanitarium. He made a pleading call to Arum, and begged forgiveness and heaven's knows what more, so Arum arranged a deal where MannyP and Top Rank would call off the suit. They had a secret meeting and the settlement was undisclosed. it's logical to assume that one of the first payovers would be that tiny percentage. And, I believe, there was a very large money amount also. Which would include all legal expenses to date. They must have run into the millions.

The Mayweather family settled about a year or more later, and their payout must have been even larger. Which, I believe, may be the REAL reason why Mayweather is expecting to fight at least twice this year, because he's running short.

Many Maybugs and Arum haters, will laugh at this, but I've given you the details as I recall them from the articles in a variety of good boxing sites, including this one.

Shame on both of them for holding Boxing hostage. So many fights we want to see, just wont happen as long as these two selfish promoters won't do business with each other. I have a feeling Bob is more to blame though.

The fued really picked up when both companies signed Manny Pacquiao a handful of years ago.
The companies did co-promote fairly often up to and including 2009. But a lot of those bouts it seemed Arum only put on when he thought his TR fighter could build off the name of the GBP fighter IE: Kelly Pavlik adding Hopkins to his resume, Mosley's name to Margaritos etc.
The Floyd vs Manny negotiations really drove a huge divider between the two companies in early 2010.
After Oscar went to rehab and tweeted something nice enough to Bob Arum, things seemed show some signs of repair between the company(Ponce De Leon vs Gamboa occured shortly after if I remember right).

Then Nonito Donaire tried to leave TR and signed a contract with GBP, that ended up being nullified.

Things have been awful between the two childish promoters since this happened in Mid 2011. Now with Sephen Espinoza running Showtime, and basically telling non GBP promoters that they won't get fights on Sho has only added to the ridiculous Cold War.
I think you covered everything especially the part where Arum would allow his fighters to fight a GBP fighter if it benefit his fighter E.G Pavlik fighting Hopkins to make his name bigger.

Top Rank [Arum] has always feuded with rival promotional companies at the same level [i.e. Don King ]
