How did the GBP vs TR feud even begin?

I didn't know about boxing till mid 2012, so could anyone tell me why these promotion companies avoid promoting great fights because of a a feud??

And how did this all even start..

Arum saw his profits go down due to competition and then rest is history.

It started with Oscar De La Hoya leaving Arum in the first place, but it really escalated because Pacquiao signed promotional contracts with both companies.

The real tipping point was when Oscar sided with Floyd with the whole PED accusations against Pacquaio.

The Donaire incident kept the flames going, that's for sure.

Oscar leaving Arum to form GPB kind of started hostility since the beginning.
The fued really picked up when both companies signed Manny Pacquiao a handful of years ago.
The companies did co-promote fairly often up to and including 2009. But a lot of those bouts it seemed Arum only put on when he thought his TR fighter could build off the name of the GBP fighter IE: Kelly Pavlik adding Hopkins to his resume, Mosley's name to Margaritos etc.
The Floyd vs Manny negotiations really drove a huge divider between the two companies in early 2010.
After Oscar went to rehab and tweeted something nice enough to Bob Arum, things seemed show some signs of repair between the company(Ponce De Leon vs Gamboa occured shortly after if I remember right).

Then Nonito Donaire tried to leave TR and signed a contract with GBP, that ended up being nullified.

Things have been awful between the two childish promoters since this happened in Mid 2011. Now with Sephen Espinoza running Showtime, and basically telling non GBP promoters that they won't get fights on Sho has only added to the ridiculous Cold War.

Yea Arum felt like Oscar back stabbed him by dipping out and starting his own brand without Arum's involvement. Arum did do a lot for Oscar coming up maintaining that squeaky clean image and building Oscar's star.
