I've seen Campillo start slow, but never seen anybody take him out while he's starting slow. Big performance by Kovalev.

Kovalev will move up in the rankings. I think Kovalev-Cloud is possible if he becomes the IBF mandatory and Cloud beats Hopkins. Murat is highly ranked by the IBF, so he's a potential opponent.

Hopkins, Shumenov and Cleverly will avoid him.

I'd like to see Kovalev fight any of the top people at 175 including Pascal and Dawson.

I think he beats Pascal rather easily.

The only LHW's that have raw athleticism on par with Kovalev is Dawson and Pacasl with Pascal being very crude in regards to skill and versatility. Campillo himself has great mobility and handspeed and Kovalev's was clearly superior to Gabe's. Sergei's hand and footspeed, balance, combinations, power and all around technical skills and boxing ability are 1st rate.

Tavoris Cloud is a utter cement footed, unathletic robot compared to Kovalev. Dude better get with Haymon and GB so he can start pumping PEDs into his body if he wants to even have a chance to compete.
I was not talking about athleticism. His head movement, positioning seems somewhat mechanical and directional (like Pavlik's). Almost like it is not a natural flow to it. It still does not matter, Pavlik became a champ. He can become one also.

I just re-watched Kovalev-Thompson and Kovalev-Campillo. Although Kov appears to have great offense and power, he seems to leave himself wide open a lot. I hope he has a really strong chin and/or develops better defensive skills before taking on an accurate-punching champ who could pick him apart.

I could see Kovalev-Murat happening, that wouldn't be a bad fight. I would like to see Kovalev-Cloud if Cloud beats Hopkins, though. That's about one of the only guys ranked highly who would fight him, if Kovalev becomes his mandatory. Cleverly, Hopkins, and Shumenov will avoid him like the plague.

It's a shame because Kovalev deserves to fight the top guys, and they would all make for great fights. Pascal or Dawson would be great as well, but do you really see them fighting Sergey? Lets hope so.
