The fight was always more about what Rosado would bring than GGG we knew what GGG would bring and he brought exactly that ... so no not 'exposed' lol at all ...

exposed = Bute getting abused by Froch not GGG doing pretty much what was expected - if you look through my posts you'll see I predicted "GGG wins inside 6-8 rounds" ... sure he missed a few and took a few but it's not ballet we're talking about ... Exposed ... lol

Nah GGG did a great job against a game opponent who actually showed up with a pretty good strategy from what I saw. He is a pressure fighter obviously trying to use angles and lateral movement is the way to blunt his offense.

Power made the difference, in my opinion.

It's not even that surprising, considering it was Rosado's first fight at 160 and, if there is something GGG has, it's power.

If you don't have enough power a guy like GGG will eventually get to you, unless you are a defensive wizard, which Rosado is not.

Martinez, unless his age finally shows, has enough power to get GGG's respect, enough skills to outbox and outsmart him. I think he'd look bad against Martinez.

I would tough like to see GGG vs Chavez jr.
I'm not sure GGG could walk trough somebody as big, albeit flawed, as Jr, who also has a very good chin.

Can't say it's just power. Look at the punch stats! Gennady is impressively accurate and he made Rosado to miss a lot too.

Gennady could done even better, I am sure. It was very tricky to run after the fighter, be only aggressor and still be very accurate. Only thing which might be better if Gennady gone more to the body. That would help him to slow down Rosado.

Anyway can't bet on Martinez, no way

            Very good analysys I find.
I don't see this "Monster" power either, and yes, Rosado is a tough kid.

@ Simurgh It's not -just -power, but power is what made the difference, in my opinion.

Rosado is usually way more aggressive, as Byrd said in the video posted above, maybe he'd have done better if he fought in a pocket. Yet, he probably was too respectful of GGG's power to go there and bring the issue.

I also think he doubted he could hurt GGG , that's why I said power made the difference, it's not the -only- factor, but the most relevant in my opinion.

What I saw was Rosado trying to be slick while at the same time running away for most of the first 4-5 rounds until he realized he couldn't win the fight doing this so he started standing his ground throwing punches and was punished for his effort by being stopped in 7.

Give GGG his credit, he fought a scared fighter and it's hard to look good against those types of matchups. If Rosado would've fought more offensive-minded from the start, he would've been stopped in about 3-4 rounds

Golovkin wasn't the least bit bothered by Rosado's movement. How was he exposed?

I thought GGG was patient and stalked his man winning every round and busting him up on the way to the stoppage. Hardly exposed. He never blew me away but he was solid. Huge puncher, great chin and im not seeing how he was gassed...

I would give my left nut to see him in with Alvarez or Chavez and the Martinez

I started a similar thread, although I don't think GGG was exposed, it just shows he has a lot of work to do. This is what I thought:

Golovkin did what he was supposed to against a JMW who had already been stopped in his native weight class. Yet the stoppage seemed a little soft since Rosado was on the move, avoiding Golovkins punches, which by this time were starting to look tired.

Rosado did have a certain level of success with his jabs and straight rights showing that Golovkin has no or at the very least, limited head movement. I just imagine him hanging with Martinez, I think JCC JR would give him one heck of a fight, that's a 50/50 fight for me. There's talk that Pirog may be GGGs next opponent. I think that's another toss up. But noway in hell is golovkin ready to take Martinez, all talk of this fight needs to be muted till GGG beats a couple of legit, top 10 ranked 160 pounders.

If Golovkin's people are serious about their man being the top MW, he should fight Pirog/Jr/Macklin next.
