I like Luis Ortiz he's a serious prospect and would hold his own against anybody out there. He's just not got the fights he needs to show his level. He's fought trash basically. He's in the exact same boat as David Price more or less. A super prospect that hasn't been able to show his level due to the awful level he's fought against. Ortiz maybe has fought at a higher level than Price but being from Cuba he has zero hype compared to Price who is now "a cert for a future place in the HOF after beating a 50 year old Matt Skelton".

Ortitz may be better than Price but he has only fought bums so far. If that is because everyone is ducking him I guess that isn't his fault. The sanctioniong bodies need to make guys like this fight each other instead of fighting bums.

this makes me laugh...

not the fight but how many times i read that valuev(pulled out in switzerland title fight) or haye ducked him,etc. the entire time i said he would not be able to fight outside germany. he is only fighting there because of their lax rules on hep & i said he would have a hard time getting meaningful fights outside germany & again several here said i was full of it but now the same people are saying exactly what i said a couple years ago... that's what makes me laugh more then the matchup & the ****** WBA rules. this interim fight is actually for the #2 ranking in my eyes...

no clue who Ortiz is, and no clue Sturm promoted
lost interest in Chagaev after Wlad whomped him a couple yrs ago
and what's the point of the interim title when they have a "regular" title?
thought the "regular" title basically was the WBA's interim title
pretty much serves the same purpose of a "substitute" champ
WBA sucks, but whatever

Ortiz's best win is against a 45 year old Bert Cooper no way he deserves this shot.
