Comments Thread For: Rubio, As Promised, To Get Quillin-Guerrero Winner

BoxingScene.com reported a few weeks ago that former champion Marco Antonio Rubio (56-6-1, 49KOs) would receive the WBO's number one ranking at middleweight. Rubio's camp has confirmed that he indeed received the WBO's top position at 160, with former champion Dmitry Pirog getting the number two spot.

In February, he challenged Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. for the WBC middleweight crown and lost a twelve round decision. He returned to the ring three more times in 2012 and won all three fights by knockout.

Quillin just fought Njikam and beat him for a title. When Chavez fought Zbik for the title he got a gift. Big difference.

consider that the only reason quillin was given any rounds at all was because of knockdowns. he lost rounds he had ndam dead to rights in lol!

ndam won every round. and dont bring up the sergio fight because it will be another 2yrs for quillin to get to that level after hes done vs "the other" guerrero and rubio. its too bad promotional differences will prevent the andy lee showdown.

This is why Martinez will retire without a legacy fight. The lineage is gettin all fucked up with unnecessary fights like Quillin/Rubio.

Are you listening to yourself? How does that make sense?

How does Njikam win every round when he spent half of the fight on his ass? Was Quillin outbox? Sure. But did he win the fight? No doubt about it. On the other hand tho, Chavez Jr needed the judges vs Zbik.

Andy Lee is supposed to beat Quillin? You really think Lee is more durable than Njikam let alone a better boxer?

I'm assuming that Pirog lost the top spot because he's injured? Seems fair.
