Could be true considering how many times Abril has been robbed. It is vs a GB fighter in a GB event after all.

Fans forget that "defense" is something that should be taken into consideration when scoring fights. Abril is very defensively responsible, and does some subtle moves that makes it hard for his opponents to land on him cleanly. Rios was probably landing more clean shots with his head than he was with his hands
Arum won't put Rios in the ring with Abril again, the fight was a case of ''Cherry picking gone wrong'' at its finest. Abril picked him apart and made him look like a club class fighter, what annoys me most about that decision is the bad example it sets.
If you're a hype job there is little reason to push yourself to the next level and take training seriously as you will escape with a W even after losing 12 rounds. If you're a fighter people sleep on there is no incentive to try and make it to the top as you will get robbed. Abril is actually in a worse position now as people see him as high risk low reward; that essentially encourages up and coming boxers to not fight their fight and take a beating so that they can make some hype job look good in return for a pay check.

Defense? You call holding defense?! Pfffttt
Abril was sticking that shoulder to Rios' face and Rios had no idea WTF to do.

He would also lean in and smother Rios offense, I'm watching the fight right now and it's just hilarious at how clueless Rios looks. He has no plan B, he either breaks you down or he gets out-boxed. Alvarado and his trainer really need to work on defending shots on the inside. He had the right idea, but flawed execution of it. Rios is a beatable foe, just gotta have the right game-plan and good conditioning too.
yall just haters, can make a case that abril won but schooling him please. I didint know tickle time was called boxing if thats the case my son is a ATG
abril will never get that rematch. plus, there's no need for it imo. we all saw what happened that night. if he wins and doesn't get robbed against bogere, there's plenty of names to choose from at lightweight. demarco and beltran are the top names that interest me for an abril matchup.
lmao,,let me guess rios the face plodder will duck his ass becus what what happened in the first one,and abril aint even that type of slick so imagine this rios kid trying to step up to broner??he shook
