Tyson was. Even the late great Emanual Stewart thought so too.

He did not have the most concussive blows, but my vote is for Foreman.

Louis had the best timing, placement, accuracy e.t.c. but I do not think he belongs in the discussion. Maybe if he went out of his way to knock out his opponents he would. Maybe

I think Shavers' power is so highly touted because of fighters' opinions, which are unreliable considering they would be getting punched in the face while trying to make up their mind. Very hard hitter, but I do not think he was the hardest.

They also might have an agenda behind their opinion. Ali wouldn't want to give Frazier the honors. Holmes didn't like Tyson either. I go by what I see. Lewis could have been the hardest puncher. Hard to say.

This type of thing is always hard to judge because it's impossible to really know. But I've never seen somebody snap so many heads as violently as Tyson did.

I would also pick Tyson in his absolute prime.
maybe it wasn't the hardest punch per se, but all around it and the art of it gave that impression.

I put Tyson, guy was a monster in his prime...

                  Nearly plumped for Foreman though

max Baer killed two men in the ring, he must have had some power.
