Who deserved fighter of the decade

The same could be said for Ray Leonard in the 80's but he's still the fighter of the decade for the 80's.

I never thought about it that way. I voted Mayweather on the fact that when he did fight we expected one sided affairs and most of them were. I think its a little tougher to win out when you're always expected to not just win but dominate world class comp.

That being said I think fighter of the decade awards are pointless/misleading in the sense that they favour fighters who put in work towards the end of the decade as opposed to fighter who were consistent and then waned towards the end of the decade or fighter who put in work at the start of the decade.

It's all just opinion at the end of the day.

Who the "Fighter of the decade" is is up to debate.

There could be some errors in there, but those are the fights each guy had from 2000-2009.

So you can form your opinion based on that.

I'm tempted to go with B-Hop.

B-Hop fought in all title fights from 2000-2006 winning the 175 title in '06 against Tarver, and just dropping two close fights which many people thought he won at least one and some two.

He then went on to defeat Winky, dropped one to Calzaghe, which again some thought he won. Capped off the decade by taking Pavlik to school and then managing to squeeze one more fight in that decade in December of '09 by defeating Enrique Ornelas.

Most importantly B-Hop won a LOT of fights he wasn't supposed to.

In my first post I even said Pac was deserving of the award, as he peaked in popularity at the right time for any of these all-decade award lists. It works the same with NBA, MLB, NFL. If you're hot in 98/99 or 08/09 it is the ideal time.
