How do YOU score this round? I picked this one cuz it's one of the more complicated rounds you'll see.
THE ACTION: About 7 seconds in, Tyson knocks Bruno down (it's a shot on the back of the head, but it is ruled a knockdown anyway). From there, it gets rough as Bruno holds and hits like a mother****er until Richard Steele deducts a point for pinning Tyson on the ropes from behind and hitting him in the back of the head twice. The round continues with both guys trading on the inside in a rough bout. In the last 45 seconds or so, Bruno ROCKS Tyson with a monster left hook. He follows up with some good shots as Tyson holds on for pretty much the rest of the round, with Bruno (legally) hitting him as he holds. NOW SCORE IT before you read my score at the bottom.
I got it 9-8 for Tyson because I felt Bruno won the round with better punches (10-9 Bruno); however, he loses a point for the knockdown, one of the few good shots Tyson lands (9-9); furthermore, Bruno also gets penalized for rabbit punching (9-8 Tyson). Give me karma because this thread is a good test of your ability to score rounds. It also begs the question, do you always give a guy a 10-8 round for scoring a knockdown even if he was beaten up for the rest of the round? I'm tempted to, but I prefer to score them 9-9 even. The only even rounds I ever score are those affected by point deductions.
