which one is it? and keep in mind what 36 year old fighter fights more than twice a year and is not a journeyman or is fighting journeymen.
How many times he fights is determined not by some weird fanciful whim but by economics and how long it takes to feasibly build up a profitable fight. Mayweather needs viable commercial opponents, and by waiting for the right "dance partner" he's protecting the value of his name by approaching the fight game like this.

So many folks were critical of Manny for suing Mayweather, even me, but in the end he had no choice, he had to protect the value of his name against the slanderous implications of Mayweather's words. These guys fought hard to get to this level, so the advice they get, from accountants and attorneys, reflects that. If Manny had his way he'd settle things in the ring just like Floyd would but they're too valuable to do things that way.

Floyd's hands are tied because of his fame, it doesn't even matter if he's a champion with a belt, all that matters is that he's paired with a fighter that will be entertaining enough to so those PPV numbers swell. Boxing is a business, a brutal entertainment complex that has a pitiless bottom line, and in its shadow scream hoards of thoughtless fans.

              Marquez has fought 12 times he's 39

              Pacquiao has fought 13 times he's 34

              Martinez has fought 14 times he's 37

Floyd has fought 6 times and he's 35

oh and it just so happens, he didn't fight the years his division was hot and full of threats.

Yeah people just the other day were *****ing about him and comparing his ortiz and cotto fights against SRL and Hearns opponents in their primes...

Well first of all he is 36 soon to be 37, he is not in his prime nor is 147/154 is prime weight. Second go look at both of those guys plus other ATG's like Ali and look at what level they were at when they were 36-37. Lennox Lewis for example was considered to be a very good older fighter and he retired at 37 and was fighting about once a year by then as well.
