yeah thats obviously not true. He was obviously protected with unwarranted stoppages when in Wales, but I am sure he didnt need to pay refs to stop the fight, the Arena staff were just looking after their local boy and didnt need paying to do that.

However I wouldnt discount team Zags paying off some of his opponents to accept an early stoppage - which would explain the lack of power in some of his punches just prior to the TKO - I mean some of those stoppages look like two eleven year olds slapping at each other in a schoolyard fight years before they learned to hurt each other. In which case its the Welsh that Joe actually robbed!

Why does it look bad for Calzaghe? he doesnt stop the fights and yes they probably are stopped to early, Calzaghe put a referee in that position by just constantly throwing punches.

I know he doesn't pick his own refs(or does he?) but it looks bad when he has a bunch of bs recorded stoppages against opponents who weren't really hurt after being hit with a barrage of his ineffective open hand slaps.
