lacy's still in development, there are many firsts that have not taken place yet in his career.

but lacy being the dangerous opponent cal***gy is facing after 40 fights and 12 years... this is far overdue for such a lengthy career like cal***gy's.
But who can question his defences???

Some of these comments remind me of the comments made, before the Hatton/Tsyzu fight, and we all know what happened there. i think Calzaghe should at least be respected for being such a long running champion. he hasn't got a huge win on his record, but theres still repectable names there. you can't buy world titles down in your local shop.

Thats what i said, and also how great will it be for another underdog to win.

I mean lets face it, even though Calzaghe is more established, he is definetly the one that people will be looking to, to lose.

          Calzaghe is the betting favourite.

I'm looking forward to this fight, even though I'm torn between wanting Calzaghe to win for us Brits - and liking Lacy's thunderous style ( in the couple of fights I have seen). I've bet on Lacy however, given the respective odds.

Should be a good first few months of 2006.

I almost named my first son Enzo...I dont want to here any snide remarcks about it either otherwise I will get very very angry.

Although Joe's old man is a bit fanatical I believe Calzaghe will give Lacy hell and win a very very close fight. (if it goes past 5 or 6 rounds we have an unsepakable fight)

This is going to be the best Super middleweight fight since McClellan v. Benn and it could possibly be better then that...

This could easily be the best Supermiddleweight fight in the history of the division!

Agreed Scap, these two are both very exciting fighters and I think it's definitely not a good idea to write Calzaghe off at this stage. If he comes to the ring in fighting shape (mentally as much as physically) then this could be a classic.

I'm kinda relieved I've not been banned on my first post, from observing this forum for a while it is a bit like a pack of dogs - insiders fight between themselves but u;timately work together, outsiders are at risk of being torn limb from limb.

I want you to stick close to me I'll take care of you, anybody messes with you I will slap them right in the face...dont worry if you no your **** youll be fine most of the posters on this site are 14 year old kids who first got introduced to boxing when Tyson fought Lewis.

We need all the fans we can get but your right being an outsider can suck on this board...stick with it and this site can become a very vey valuable tool to learn about and see more of the sport we all love.

instead of questioning the defenses, i'll question the caliber of opposition he was defending against. whether or not those guys faced undefeated killers to get the chance to fight calzaghe, makes a big difference. I won't **** talk him though since my fav fighter, nard, did a bit of the same (referring to opponent choosing).. boxing is a business my friend.
