"Tainted" wins, real or imagined offer the believer a safe cushion against an outcome they can't live with. If there weren't "excuse threads," the spirit of competition could be officially ruled dead. The pointless threads of anger are passion denied the ultimate outlet, victory. Pointless is as pointless does.....
