i've heard reports that he's signed with the AIBA (the worldwide amateur boxing organization,) and that he'll be fighting in some sort of league that allows him to make some cash, but still compete at the rio olympics.
f#cking ******, if you ask me. the guy is going to be past his prime if he ever makes a turn to a real professional. he's very small. they should have him fighting over here. if he were a cruiserweight, middleweight, HW, he could get some huge fights in europe / germany. i don't see him getting those kind of fights big euro fights, given that he is so small, and basically a fully grown man already.
He's not staying amateur until Rio he's just fighting in the World Series of Boxing for a year or two. No different than a early pro career except they fight much tougher compitition than young pros do so he'll be able to fight 6 round fights against decent opponents right away once he goes pro. Lomachenko should have his first WSB fight in a week or two. Here's a fight from WSB

Ah ok, I hope he does only do this for a little while, i see the WSB trapping a lot of talented boxers.
I thought he would try and turn pro while the K bros are still doing their thing, sign with K2 and get massive exposure on the undercard of the bros fights. If he waits too long that goldmine is going to close with Vit retiring and Wlad fast approaching 40.

I don't think he has any intention of signing with K2. He realizes that Europe is not the place to base yourself out of if you're a Lightweight expect him to sign with an American promoter when he does go pro.

I disagree (again lol, we cant get along today?). Having a ready made eastern euro fanbase makes all the financial sense in the world to me. Plus signing with K2 allows him to work with both GBP and Top Rank in America, which signing with one of those two does not.
