Comments Thread For: Stevenson vs. Oosthuizen on March 2 For Froch's Belt?

The IBF's super middleweight situation is still unresolved. Carl Froch has a mandatory defense due to Adonis Stevenson (19-1, 16KOs). Froch's promoter, Eddie Hearn, is trying to reach an agreement with Sauerland Event for a rematch with WBA "regular" champion Mikkel Kessler.

The IBF would likely approve a unification between Froch and Kessler. If a deal is not reached, or the IBF rejects the exception request, Froch would be forced to face Stevenson or vacate his title. [Click Here To Read More]

    It's an appealing matchup.

The IBF should have Tommy Gun vs. Stevenson for an interim belt, and have Froch fight the winner later in the year.

Froch/Kessler, with Adonis/Oosthuizen on the undercard. winners face off.

I'm not sold on Adonis. Obviously has huge huge power, but I see Tommy Gunn outpointing him all day. That being said, with that punching power, Adonis has a chance against anyone.

honestly?! who gives a crud about stevenson or oosthuizen. froch demolishes them both. froch isnt interested in either. there is no money in either fight so he sure as sh17e isnt going to pay 10% of nothing to keep a belt.
if the IBF want to get a few $ then they better get on board with a unification fight that will generate far more than two up and comers.
and they will. or they will be irrelevant.

I hope the IBF doesn't strip Froch. Froch vs. Kessler deserves to be a title unification fight.

and the added advantage is that if Kessler/Froch winner holds IBF/WBA then winner rematching Ward who holds WBC/WBA "Super"/Ring/Lineal makes it for 'all the marbles'.
except for Abraham and that poxy stooges belt that the chief sponsor Warren will soon have his hands on via Groves.

As neither has earned a shot yet, they should be facing off for the mandatory position rather than Stevenson getting it just for beating Donovan George.

This is all talk. The IBF will allow the unification with Kessler.

oosthuizen beats them all: Kessler, Froch, Stevenson....they should stay away from him if they value their records.
