Comments Thread For: David Tua-Shane Cameron Rematch Pursued By Higgins

Shane Cameron has been offered $250,000 to step into the ring with David Tua again.

Tua retired from boxing following his loss to Monte Barrett in August last year but is now planning a comeback and his promoter, David Higgins, says Cameron is first in line to fight the former world heavyweight contender.

The last time the two met in the ring – in October 2009 – Tua knocked Cameron out in the second round, in what was billed as the “Fight of the Century”.

this is what hurts boxing. why do we the fans accept tua, golota, maskaev, mcCall etc still fighting? because we love the game. to put a stop to this we have to NOT SHOW UP or not tune in to these events.

i got no problem watching the old guys fight. this is nothing unusual. it's been happening since the start of the sport. they should stick to fighting each other. maskaev vs beck is a good example. both are way past their best but if they can get a paycheck, a little media time & another fight then why not? maskaev vs beck has had quite a bit of media exposure. there will be a couple thousand there & it's not a meaningful fight but the fans get to see maskaev one more time. watch michael grant\botha from last year. solid HW fight between a couple 40 year olds.
