No but really, I do hope Cloud doesn't stop the Hop. That's a very real possibility in this fight. Scary stuff.

Common, you don't really believe this do you?

Why is this your sentiment all of a sudden? Is this the traditional "he is too old, the young guy will stop him", viewpoint? Lets look at styles. Trinidad, Tarver, Pavlik. All those fights were at a different age point.

Stylistically, Cloud fits right into that category. Not Calzaghe, Taylor, Dawson or even Pascal. Pascal at least was fast handed and explosive for the first 5 rounds.

Even if Hopkins is way past it and can no longer pull the trigger offensively to win decisions, he's got plenty to survive and play defense and lost by decision. A KO loss??? A 0.0001% chance of that happening.

2001: Trinidad is going to knock Hopkins out[Trinidad got outboxed and got his 0 taken from him].

2005: Taylor will be too young and too active for Hopkins[close fight].

2006: Antonio Tarver[175 Ring Champion; Hopkins first fight at 175] will be too big, too powerful, Hopkins is getting killed. He needs to retire[Hopkins was 40 years old]. Tarver gets schooled.

2007: Winky Wright was favored to beat Hopkins[close fight, Hopkins won].

2008: Calzaghe was listed as -275 favorite. Decision was debatable, I thought Calzaghe won and Hopkins looked his 43 year old age.

2008: "Pavlik is going to kill Hopkins", Roach: Hopkins should retire, he's going to get seriously hurt by Pavlik. Pavlik was the overwhelming favorite among betting odds and boxing experts. The majority of predictions was Pavlik by KO/TKO. Hopkins schooled Pavlik and took his 0.

2010: Pascal -300 favorite to beat Hopkins. "Has the 23 years of boxing mileage finally taken its toll, and is Pascal really the fighter to send the ageless wonder into retirement?"[SBRForum].

2012: Dawson favored. Close fight but clear. This fight marked Hopkins' first clear loss since losing to Roy Jones in 1993.

2013: Cloud has about as much of a chance as Pavlik, at beating Hopkins. I expect people to know by now that Hopkins should be favored in most of his fights, especially against a style like this. After 11 years of being the underdog, people don't learn that it's actually Hopkins' opponents who are the underdog, even at 47/48 years old and being outweighed/fighting way younger top fighters.

Cloud is very heavy handed and he's hungry still. The risk is there because. Bhop will be 48 years old. He's taken more shots now then he ever has in his career against big punchers like Pascal and Chad and he's been hurt against those guys. Stylistically, of course Cloud is perfect for Hopkins but at this age you never know..Hopkins can see everything and anticipate everything but his body may not be able to react fast enough.

Of course I'll ride with Hopkins till the end but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous. Then again I'm always nervous when Bhop fights.

But Hopkins is the type of fighter that doesn't like pressure. I love the guy, but Cloud is a very good pressure fighter & B-Hop will be using 50 yo legs. I hope he wins, but I won't be surprised if he doesn't.
Hopkins destroyed Pavlik who is an hard punching pressure fighter. On the other hand Cloud is bigger than Pavlik and Hopkins is even older now. The question is can Hopkins turn back the clock once again? If he can he will school Cloud, if not he gets knocked out. It will be interesting.

Man, I'm a B-Hop fan bro, 1 o tha biggest on here. But the man is damn near 50. Cloud is a damn good pressure fighter. Pavlik is a horrible comparison, at a lighter weight too. I'm rooting for Hop & hope he gitsherdone. But father time can only be held off for so long.

I don't see Cloud beating Hopkins.

Hopkins may be almost 50 years old (Insane) but he should have more than enough left in the tank to beat Cloud.

Cloud is not very good IMO.

I agree, he is nothing but a defenseless come forward brawler with some pop but thats it, this is the style of fighter Hopkins usually excels against.
