Stop and think for a second. you're going to be paying $70 to see floyd fight guerrero. $70 to see Floyd win an easy UD. To fight floyd all it takes is beating a berto (now off steroids) whos coming off of a long layoff.

Say do any of ya'll remember about a year or two ago when alot of experts mentioned Robert to be the one to beat Floyd? If I recall correctly Bert Sugar, and Manny Steward(RIP to both Legends)both said they believed he would be the one to beat Floyd. They weren't the only ones saying such in those interviews either. If I can find it I'll post it. But this fight has been on the lips of the experts for years now as a possible fight.

Not understanding all the hate for it, being that we are ALL avid fans of the sport and follow it so closely.
I bumped that thread about a month ago.

With Floyd Mayweather's May 5th, 2012 date looming, many boxing experts believe Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero has a chance to knock off boxing's Pound for Pound k

The true best opponent at WW right now, is JMM, who Floyd already beat and let's face it, you would criticize that fight too. So shut up, wait for May 4th, stream or buy the PPV and then come back here to make another thread, among the countless other threads whining and b-tching about Floyd after May 4th.
Kev, You suck Floyd's tiny ****kk too much!! WE boxing fans should make a statement to Floyd!! "No more Tuneup for you Puto!!" He needs to fight the best! There's Martinez, Canelo, Super sized JMM, & Pac to choose from!! Don't Pick On Pac sparring partner again!

Hype? Please, there's little need for such theatrics, Floyd's fights sell because he can put on a show. Realistically, with the defeat of Manny Pacquiao, there isn't much out there for Floyd, but he's still intent on fighting so he has to choose someone. The fact that it won't be Manny he's fighting is already a strike against him because a replacement will never be good enough.

Meh, it is what it is.

Did you NOT read what I said? This fight has been talked bout by those who know far more about Boxing than you or I. Before Robert even stepped up to WW. Soooooooooooooooo. Until you can give me a perfectly good reason to discredit their/the experts interest in the fight back in 2K11, when you wasnt even thinking of Robert being a JWW let alone the #3 WW...............................I suggest YOU stop ****in cryin bout this fight(Thats not signed BTW)and find out why the experts were so willing to say that Robert would beat Floyd or be in a very close fight with him.

Emanuel Steward – Boxing Hall of Fame Inductee & HBO Commentator

“It’s a tough fight. To me it’s a pick-em fight in my opinion.”

Luis Decubas Sr. – Boxing Promoter

“Whenever you fight a fighter that doesn’t know how to lose is very difficult to go against him. But with a great fighter, who’s getting older, styles make fights and Robert Guerrero is a big, strong, young southpaw with the aggression and foot ability to beat Mayweather. Believe it or not I’m picking Guerrero by UD decision.”

Cameron Dunkin – World Class Boxing Manager

“Guerrero is quick southpaw but I’m going with Floyd in a REAL competitive fight. Floyd wins 7 rounds to 5.”

David Avila – Boxing Writer – Riverside Press-Enterprise

“That’s a very close one. If The Ghost were to fight Mayweather, I’m just wondering if he could fight that style. It’s a confusing style when fighting Mayweather because he makes you think and pause while he hits you. I say Mayweather in a close split decision.”

Miguel Diaz – World Boxing Hall of Fame Trainer

“Floyd is a great fighter. If there’s someone who’s going to beat him it’s gonna be a strong young fighter like Robert Guerrero. He is a southpaw with lots of skill. But in the end I feel Floyd will be too intelligent and win a decision in a VERY competitive fight.”

Roberto Duran – Boxing Hall of Fame Legend
“I think its a great fight. It reminds me a lot of my fight with Sugar Ray Leonard when I moved up from lightweight to welterweight and beat him. You have a fast American fighter against a bruising Latin fighter. Styles make fights and this is a very interesting match-up. I feel that Robert will pull off the upset in Las Vegas and I must be there to see it. Guerrero by unanimous decision.”

These are the quotes from the article dated November 18th 2011. Still searchin for the video I saw a year or so ago.

You have been brilliant in this thread Chief, made some very valid points but there is no point in arguing with the idiots in NSB who are uneducated about the game,
I respect you can just walk away from it, unlike myself who lowers myself to there shit...

                  Respect bro.

I think this is a good fight, less risky than a Canelo fight because of the size and strength advantage but still a great fight.

Guerrero isn't Ortiz, he has a totally different mindset, trust me, you won't find Guerrero trying to kiss Floyd in the ring or touch gloves with him. The Ghost will be too busy beating Floyd's arse and roughing him up for that weak minded trash.
