Showtime is quickly going to surpass HBO in the quality of fights they put together. Rees? Come on HBO, Vasquez was practically begging for this fight with Broner and it would have been a good competitive fight but Broner vs. Rees is a total mismatch and just straight garbage and an insult to HBO subscribers.

maybe Broner deserves more flack because he's sitting as the #5 Pound for Pound right now .. but he's still only 23 years old, and if this bout with Rees is just a stay busy fight ... with a bigger bout planned for May .. don't see all the heavy criticism.

and yeah Gamboa-Broner will probably never happen, they're a weight class apart right now, but Broner might be up to 140 before Gamboa is at lightweight.

I'd like to see that as well

if bold is true, then yeah not so bad, but IMO Broner's held to a higher standard because he's rated pretty highly, not to mention top 5 pound for pound

well others have hinted at the May opponent being Burns, or another belt holder at Lightweight, I figure the same as others with a unification

especially if it's going to be the undercard portion of a PPV, they'd want Broner in a significant fight, and unifying belts would fit the bill.

Broner is a ****in clown! This dude is so overrated! He will continue fighting midget nobodies and protect his 0 , and some people have the awdacity to consider this clown be mentioned in P4P lists.

This dudes a joke! his nick name should be the " midget killer"

Showtime does put on some pretty good fights, but what I like from the network is their set of commentators, who are very knowledgeable about the sport of boxing, and try to keep personal bias out .. I feel Paulie's been a great addition to the team .. just keep Gus Johnson off the team and it's a win in my book, guy's a moron. still vividly remember Gus hooting and hollering about Ward "winning by stoppage" when his fight vs Kessler was stopped due to accidental clash of heads.

bold: total mismatch, if I'm not mistaken didn't Showtime air Canelo Alvarez-Lopez .. a blown up 140 lber going against the WBC Super Welterweight champ

Rees-Broner might be a mismatch, but at least both fighters are in the same weight class ... Lopez-canelo was a frikin joke of a fight

Darren Barker is a decent fighter, but you probably think boxing only occurs in america.

Now I think about it, Rees is a decent opponent for Broner. He throws a ton of leather, but eats a ton also. He isnt on Broners level, but he could give him something to think about although I see the fight ending before the end of the sixth and wouldnt be surprised if cuts were a deciding factor.

Good fighter for Broner to look good against and should be fun while it lasts.

                    Broner is a ***ing bum.

He's roughly around the size of Prime Lennox Lewis's left nut.

This ***ing midget from the hood is fighting a EVEN smaller midget from the forests of UK.

Mini Midget Mike vs Midget Robin Hood of Sherman Oaks.

Broner need to step the *** up and go to 140- where it's still at least guys who's closer to average size.. He's literally fighting some guy who's 5 feet tall.

Broner is gonna look like god damn Rid**** Bowe next to this guy.

Lil Broner is gonna get exposed at 140-147 and it's gonna be the funniest thing in the world.

I LOVE it when boxers of nut huggers get brutally ktfo.

Plankquiao WladoGlass, Lucy Bute, I just hope Floyd and Broner follow Plankquiao into Photo shop terrioty.
