They all have the potential to be at the top in their respective divisions, just gotta continue receiving the opportunities to prove themselves.
only issue there is their age they are all in their early 30s lara is 29

Gamboa and Rigondeaux are both beating their guys, rather decisively. There's only a handfull of fighters combined that I see can actually beat them.

Lara on the other hand, has never impressed me. If people think he can become the best of his division then he is overrated. At 29 he doesnt have enough room for improvement.

I agree good thread. I'm a huge gamboa fan though I truly believe in his potential. Lara and Rigo? Pfft

Now they are, but i'll be damned if Gavilan isn't one of the toughest and most brilliant fighters I've seen on tape.

Boxing in Cuba is under Government Control (as well as Baseball), and specifically sets out to identify young fighters who have potential, and dedicate a lot of resources to there training.

Unfortuantely because Boxing in Cuba is under communist control, Cubans have to defect (usually at an older age) and most of the time, leave there entire life, and family behind...that shows how dedicated they are to the sport (and money).

Because of this unique aspect, Cuban fighters are my favorites and have a very very unique advantage compared to other countries.
Well said, i know a little about it also (lol) but i say just like any other professional boxer i just enjoy the fights now and when they are retired only then can one truly make a informed decision on the quality of their pro career, but of course the potential is there to have a great career from the things they have already done. but potential is nothing without dedication and a little bit of "luck"

Gamboa has wins over Salido, Ponce, and Solis. Very nice little resume at 126.

Lara has the "win" over Williams, and a very close fight with Molina. He should have gotten the W over Vanes too.

Rigondeaux has two wins over Top 10 SBW in Cordoba and Ramos.

It's just these guys are getting frozen out of big fights lately, with the exception of Gamboa.

Well yeah, but we'd have had Gamby/Rios already if Gamby didn't pull that ish with Rios. He froze himself out.
