Cuban Fighters are Overrated

I also picked Lara by late stoppage. Could have happened had the fight continued cuz it seemed like the tide was turning. I just hope the rematch ends in a decisive fashion with no sort of controversy.Comment

The mere fact a fighter originates from Cuba is an indication of skill that should already be assumed. The reasoning for this is soley based on Cuban politics and how they treat there athletes. Baseball and Boxing, chosing one or the other, youre destined to be a champion.
Boxing in Cuba is under Government Control (as well as Baseball), and specifically sets out to identify young fighters who have potential, and dedicate a lot of resources to there training.
Unfortuantely because Boxing in Cuba is under communist control, Cubans have to defect (usually at an older age) and most of the time, leave there entire life, and family behind...that shows how dedicated they are to the sport (and money).
Because of this unique aspect, Cuban fighters are my favorites and have a very very unique advantage compared to other countries.Comment

And I have ZERO innate bias, im a Cracka Gringo. For reals. But i do love Cuban boxers, and Cuba in general. I did have an old Ex Girlfriend who was from Cuba...but thats literally my only connection, if anything that should make me hate Cuba lolComment

The hell...how do you define obnoxious? Cuban fans are no where near the same level as Mexican fans who worship paper champs like Chavez Jr and Canelo, or British fans who blow horns during an entire fight as if its a soccer game.Comment

There is a reason why Cuban fighters are praised ....as i pointed out above. It aint random nationalist nut-huggery like I see with Chavez Jr and Canelo fans... and Khan fans.Comment
