what would he prove by fighting a 38 year old mw at 154??the fight would mean nothing..fight at 160 or there is no point...the lineal title is the only reason for this fight to happen man..other than that it is pointless and leaves to many excuses out there

He should fight Martinez and then retire. Win or lose that's the way to go out IMO.
Fight a guy that many feel is in the top 3 p4p and beat him.
He missed out on the Pac fight now that JMM hit the "perfect punch".
So Martinez is the only real challenge close to his weight.
Martinez is even willing to meet him at 150. I would pay 100 dollars for the ppv if they signed the fight.

150 would be a damn joke and a disgrace to the sport

It would prove more to me than fighting Canelo as of now. I'd like it more than something like a Devon Alexander fight at 147 as well.

Martinez says he can make 154 and I'll give him the benefit of the doubt as long as he is given the amount of time he asks for to try to lose the weight in a healthy manner. That is my position, but you are welcome to disagree.

I'm sure there are some who wouldn't like the fight at the weight and others like myself who would be fine with it, so long as Martinez is given time.

If Martinez wins at 160 wouldn't the excuse just be Floyd is too small and is old? I realize Martinez is old too, but many Floyd fans would likely say he was fighting at his natural weight and was much bigger. Floyd would still be at a size disadvantage with Sergio at 154, but it also gives Floyd an advantage in that Martinez may have some difficulty making weight. I think that is a fair trade-off.

Martinez is not a huge mw. Floyd has won the 154lb title. He should go after history. Duran did it against a young Barkley, Floyd should go after the 160 belt imo.

150 is a Manny weight and it would hurt Martinez a lot , you cant throw numbers around like this , 150 would kill Martinez , too many on this board take the weights for granted .

That is not completely true. Operating under that logic Joey Maxim must have been a more skilled fighter than Sugar Ray Robinson.
