So I guess ESPN is indeed serious about the whole PPV stuff. I wonder how much it's going to be?

Don't worry. You won't pay $60 for this package. Not $50. Not $40. Not even $30. This entire package could be yours for an introductorily price of only $19.99. And as a special TV offer, we'll cut the price by half. That's right, only $9.99. And if you call within 30 minutes, we'll include Margarito vs. Cintron, FREE.

i'd pay to watch this, especially $20. this kid diaz is a good fighter, and lazcano ain't bad either, with a decent undercard it's better than some of the **** HBO put on ppv.

This is a prospect that I enjoy for 2 reasons: 1) He comes to fight all the time 2) and he walks the walk. Juan Diaz is a kid who is nowhere near his prime, yet he takes the tough fights and is already a champ. While I think he needs to let his body mature so he can get some power, he is the future of the lightweight division. In 2 years or so, I want to see him in there with a fighter like Corrales or Casamayor. Right now, I think Jauregui and Lazcano are where he needs to be.

why is espn putting out a ppv? we need more free ****, boxing is the only sport where you have to pay to watch a big event.

You have to pay because the CBs's, nbc's, and abc
s of the world all got out of the sport...you still have superstars that want big money but there is no network willing to jump in even though they would make a killing.

Imagine if on a saturday night Fox or CBS had the heavyweight championsip of the world on? VK vs. Lennox...they would bring a zillion new fans to the sport, it would be that simple...

Fox and CBS shell out over a billion for the rights to show one nfl game a week, they alternate who gets the double header...hell imagine if there budget for boxing was just 100 million.

Ok with all of that said I would pay 19.95 too watch Lazcano v. Diaz fight...this is a fight that is going to be a war...a war is worth money...maybe fans should rethink getting a fight like Hopkins/Oscar...you knew it would be a boring fight but we all got it anyway...PAy for the fight not the fighters...with Cintron/Margarito and Diaz Lazcqano that is exactly what you would be doing.

So Espn doesn't show a c level card every week, rather they show an A card and charge 15-20 bucks for it once every few months...
I would rather pay $19 to watch Citron vs. MArgarito then for free watch Billy Irwin vs. Emanuel Augustus...

Until the big boys like CBS, FOX etc get back into the game we will always pay for really good fights...NBC is at least giving it a shot on a preliminary basis and I believe they have had good results...someday this sport of ours will turn around, in the meanntime let's support the best of the sport we all love...Lazcano/Diaz-Cintron/Margarito...thats a pretty good start!

NBC found ratings success with some Saturday afternoon events last year. I think I read they'll have another season.

True, Margarito vs Cintron would be a real PPV headliner, instead of Diaz and some unknown guy.

Diaz v. Lazcano...are you saying that Lazcano is an unknown guy? It is hard to tell if Juan Lazcano will be the same after his brutal beating by JL Castillo but if he is then I think he probably beats Diaz...Lazcano will be able to hurt Diaz and Diaz won't be able to hurt JL...so Diaz better hope that Castillo took a lot out of Juan otherwise it could be a very brutal night!
