Pavlik-Abraham is the right style matchup, but who's going to make that fight? Top Rank would likely have to give Abraham a big piece of change to come over here, and why invest when Pavlik's career is almost over?

Kelly would have to go to Europe for short money to get the fight, like Paulie did with Senchenko.

I'm wondering if he was even injured and if the "problems" weren't on Pavlik's side.

Pavlik stock will go way up with the belt Abraham has, which is an extremely winnable fight. It would be worth it. Plus Abraham came to the US for the super six and I'm pretty sure he didn't get paid some crazy amount.

Bute vs Pavlik was made once before and it would be a great way for Bute to prepare himself for Froch.

This is a common theme with Ward.

I know it's not his fault but it makes me not like him....can't stand guys with injuries always popping up in camp. He'll be one of those guys that's lucky to fight once a year.

I'm glad actually. I'd like to see Ward fight Stevenson, Oosthuizen, or even Rodriguez before Pavlik. Pavlik should fight someone lie Dirrell or Bika.

From all indicators the fight was originally postponed due to Ward suffering an injury in training. I gather his injury must be worse than first thought

Ward seems to be a pampered pu$$y - backing out of fights because of minor injuries, weight draining his opponents, demanding home advantage, refusing to fight overseas during the Super Six.

i was never interested in this fight, so i'm kind of glad it's been cancelled (if it's truly cancelled). ward shouldn't be fighting easier opponents like pavlik in this stage of his career imo. if ward doesn't plan on moving up yet, he should just try and clean out the division by unifying titles or taking out the top contenders. all the other 3 titleholders at 168 he already beat though, so idk if that's the way to go, haha. as for pavlik, continue the route he's been going. fight a decent SMW and work his way to a title shot (preferably against froch or abraham). i'd still love to see chavez jr move up and face pavlik at 168. hope that happens tbh.

Why is Ward beating a green Stevenson or Oozy any better than Pavlik? Would be funny if Stevenson knocked his b*tch ass out tho.

                    Ward"peeleft:

Maybe Arum will feed Pavlik to Chavez before the Martinez rematch. Would be funny if that backfired too.

Too bad that Abraham is fighting Stieglitz again.

Pavlik vs. Bute would be a good fight for both guys though. Bute can try to rebuild his confidence against a faded Pavlik and Kelly can get a good payday.
