Even before the fight, Cotto and his team was talking about how they didnt see anything special about Trout. This is a classic case of when CHERRY PICKING GOES WRONG
This was definitely cherry picking goes wrong nothing more nothing less, Imagine if Pacquiao or Mayweather had decided they were fighting the unknown trout?

Bob did the same thing to Cotto when Floyd was in line to fight him when both where undefeated JWW's under Top Rank. Bob wouldn't make the fight. Just like he wouldn't make the De la Hoya or Hatton fights for Floyd.

Let alone making Pac fight an undefeated fighter like Floyd. At least the simple people now understand how Bob works. I've only said what Bob just said for the past few years.

First, when Cotto turned down Arum and pacman, it was "oh, Cotto wants an easy fight, that's cotto's history". Now all-of-a-sudden, cotto is ******. F*** Arum.

            K9 has a belt too.

And Cotto would have sonned Bundrage. In my mind Trout was a far riskier opponent, his style was all wrong for Cotto.

The older Bob Arum gets the more vocal he becomes. He has literally been telling the media his thoughts about picking fights to make his guys look good and profit. He doesn't care about covering it up no more. Too old and rich to care. I would not be surprised on his death bed he says that he was the reason Mayweather/Pacquiao never happened like he did (and admitted it) with the Martinez/Chavez Jr fight for 2 years. Bob Arum is about maximizing his profits he doesn't want to lose or break bread with no one.

yeah arum didn't want cotto to fight mayweather and that's why he offered floyd a career high payday to fight cotto.

I suppose I am deluded then (Naaaah)...It appears both sides did enough bs'n to derail the bout from getting made over the past few years. However, I doubt if there was any "fear factor" present considering the fact that manny has struggled against marquez over the course of four fights and couldn't dominate a jr welterweight in timothy bradley. I know you dudes either have your fav fighters or just simply love to hate on others but facts are facts. Pacquiao has trouble against skilled boxers who display any sort of mobility and can counterpunch effectively ...I'm pretty sure that includes floyd.

I think it is pathetic how Pacquiao fans say Floyd ducked Pacquiao when in 2009 the fight could have happened but Manny didn't want to agree to the testing the way Floyd wanted it. Manny went and fought Clottey? How do you go from Mayweather to Clottey? Seriously? Clottey lost to Cotto who Pacquiao beat down prior (Cotto). The only thing Mayweather is guilty of is asking for random blood testing because that gave them an excuse to duck the fight. I still don't understand why Pacquiao fans keep talking about Floyd anyway while Pacquiao is still shaking from that earth shattering right hand from Juan Manuel Marquez.

Manny is a good fighter but he was a product of strategic match making and catch weight stipulations. Floyd should have fought him without testing like everyone else did. I think Floyd gave Manny too much respect and somewhere inside thought Manny was a threat because of the punching bags he beat up on because they were bigger but lil Marquez showed that Manny is the same ol Manny. Either way....Bob Arum never was confident in making the fight...

Arum also indicated he would like Pacquiao to get through the Hatton fight before going up against Mayweather saying“I want Mayweather to stay there (in retirement) until September. The longer he’s out the more rusty he’ll be."
