Why don't they do that? They'd still get a flipload of money, ie 10 million at least, rather than 30 million they'd get for PPV.

Instead they are sitting on their asses the spare 3rd of the year.

Pac & Floyd are high end "prize" fighters when the Prize is BIGGER than anyone elses you become protective of it! It hurts the spirit of competition and fair play but they don't care. Welter title is worth more than the Heavyweight crown!!

WW contender Gaspar Ortega once fought 11 times in a Month!
      5 times in 9 days!
His last year good bye tour was filled with 21 fights in 29 days!!
Yes the generations sure have changed, full time has lost its meaning!! Ray.

He is also writing a book on how to duck and cherry pick your way through the irrelevant divisions.

Donaire has said he wants to fight again in March or April, after fighting 4 times last year. This is the way it should be, not once or twice a year. Big up Nonito!

I didnt know vazquez jr, nishioka, and arce are bums? Im sure a talented keyboard warrior like yourself could beat them with ease.

I wouldnt say Nonito is "paving" the way, but i give him props for at least being active and not allowing politics to have him fight only once a year.

For those who truly understand boxing, you know that preparing for a fight puts a ton of stress on your body. From the diet, the running, the 3 times a day training, muscles/joints/bones getting worn, its hard. It takes usually 2 months to properly prepare for a fight, so if Nonito is fighting every 4 months, he literally is only allowing himself 3-4 months of rest (at most)for the ENTIRE year, which is crazy at the pro level with that many fights against quality opposition.

But then again, HBO is probably paying the Bertos of the world in 2 fights the same amount Donaire is getting paid for 4 fights so it evens out.
              This.

Fighters don't take the risk of staying active like James Toney did on Tuesday Night Fights in the 90s. They get paid much more to do less nowadays.

You don't know the business of boxing.

He can fight 4 times a year because he is not a PPV star, can not sell PPVs, and he is fighting bums.

It takes 4 months to promote a PPV. How do you expect someone like Floyd or Manny to fight 4 times a year when it takes 4 months to promote a fight?

Most younger fighters fight more frequently early in their career... Once the big purses start rolling in and they get up in age they fight less frequently. The body just can't handle that kind of abuse. I guarantee he will slow down. It's only natural

I'm more for quality over quantity and honestly Donaire had on legit fight this year that fans were intersted in and that was against a past prime Nishioka
