Margarito's best wins were Cotto, Clottey, and Cintron. Those are his legit good wins in my eyes. Cintron in 2005 though, at the time Cintron hadn't done anything. His rematch win over him in 2008 was better to me.
    you again?
we went over this in detail yesterday
Tony was frozen outta the big dance at WW
unified champs Spinks, Mayorga, and Judah weren't gonna fight him
he had to get his by beating the lesser known contenders at WW
no one said these guys were the cream of the crop
they were just ranked guys Tony wrecked en route to bigger things

This isn't about that though....this is about who he did beat and how the wins are on his resume.

And the bolded would have been good for you to admit in that thread last night.

admitted it several times, it kept going over your head
point was, Tony wasn't getting a chance vs the unified champs
without the big names, he earned cred for a slew of so so names
not guys who were most distinguished, just guys in the top 10
he had to beat a batch of them to make up for not having the big names

Just imagine if Margarito were to of said....I'm not here to prove to the boxing fans who the best is.

Boyyyy you would never hear the end of it from the Floyd stans.

So does this not put a big dent in Floyds win over Shane since Shane beating Margarito was a nice part off the fight coming together. The guy was a very good fighter

His resume may not be great but it certainly isn't weak, especially when you looked at when he fought them. I'd pick Danny Perez over nearly everyone in the top 10 at welter today. Cintron was favored to beat him at the time and was well thought of back then. Six Heads, Clottey, Cotto etc. Basically he beat a long string of welter opponents and because he did so, was the longest reigning champ at welter for quite some time. Not Hall of Fame caliber but not weak by any means.
