I remember when Hershman first came to HBO he was saying it would be a priority but I haven't heard anything since.

    So many great possibilities:

160 pounds (while chavez/martinez fight tune ups/then eachother) we could have Quillin, Golovkin, Pirog, Macklin, N'Dam, etc.

154 - Trout, Lara, Vanes, Kirkland (if he ever comes back), Molina, etc.

140 - Matthysse, Khan, Garcia, Khabib Allakhverdiev, Ruslan Provodnikov, etc.

160 is the best division to do it but Martinez is going to keep milking his titles until the end of the year. Probably even for the remainder of his career

We don't need Martinez to have a good super six at MW. That's why I didn't include him or Chavez.

Sounds like a great idea.. but given the poor end results of the first 'Super Six' not so sure anyone wants to risk another tourney..

Well I think Hershman stated he wouldn't want to do a round robin style tournament again. It would be a single round elimination. This way it could be done all within a year, easy.

But despite the setbacks of the original super six there is no doubt it was successful in launching guys careers into the spot light. Where would Froch, Ward & Kessler really be w/o the super six? Who knows.

you're are right, it can still be good without him or Jr.

I am not big on the 6 person boxing tournament, it just takes to long with the round robin and too much changes quickly in boxing.

If they were going to do a 6 person rate them 1-6 give the top two byes then have 3-6 fight then just have it go straight to the semifinal.

160 is the ideal and most realistic choice.

Just for shits and giggles, throw Broner in the 140 mix. What about Rios? Is he moving up to WW?

I REALLY like 140, if it can fall into place.

                    140: Garcia/Matthysse, Khan/Allakhverdiev, Peterson/Provodnikov
                    154: Canelo/Trout, Lara/Vanes 2, Molina/Kirkland 2
                    160: Golovkin/Geale, Pirog/Quillin, N'Dam/Macklin

You could make all kinds of good match-ups with these fighters.
