As he said in the video "Why blame your trainer, all he can do is tell you what to do"

This is NOT true, a trainer is much more than someone that "tells you what to do" a trainer is someone who needs to command your respect, and push you and motivate you.

Roach has had this problem not just with Jr but with Manny and Khan. Neither see him as the boss in the gym anymore. I think Roach is/was a great trainer but maybe the parkinsons has changed his character in the gym or his ability to really take control of fighters like he once did.

He even admitted recently that he's no longer the boss when it comes to telling Manny what to do. A young, lazy fighter like Chavez Jr needs someone to put a boot to his ass, be on him 24/7 and really push him to be his best.

I agree that it's ultimately on him but as a trainer you have to get the best out of your fighters and I think Robert Garcia is the best fit for Jr.

Nacho is a legendary trainer but I think Mexico is too much of a distraction for Jr. Oxnard would be better, isolated and separated from what he's used to. Plus the Garcia family knows what they are doing in the pro game and run a great gym.

He needs to someone to be on his ass, pushing him. Roach wasn't that guy anymore. Garcia seems to be the best fit, but he's got a pretty healthy stable of fighters.

Exactly my point and I think Jr is lazy but the one thing that has worked in his favour is the same thing that's worked against him and that's his name.

People aren't very smart that's why. He deserves the criticism but at the same time, Roach might just not be the guy for him anymore.

I wouldn't too mad about this if I was Freddie.

Chavez Jr is a lazy prick. Until he sorts that out, no trainer in the world is going to help him all that much. He seems like he has an issue with authority and doesn't want to listen to people around him.

Didn't seem like he wanted to listen to Roach and the way he acted in that 24/7 episode when his dad was talking tactics for the Sergio fight and Chavez just didn't seem to give a ****.

              **** this kid.

Either way, Freddie should retire already. Health is most more important.

He's just following in Khan's footsteps. Pacquiao might be the last one to realize it's time to leave..

Its the fighters victory when he wins and the trainers fault when they loose!!
Unless the trainer has developed the fighter from the beginning its very hard to develop trust! The most sucessfull fighters are the ones who have the same core of men behind them who they trust and rely on!

As for Junior good bye and good riddens! "NO Primidonna's Here!!!
Let his father train him!! Start by teaching him what a jab is! Ray.
