he is a 140-147 version of Angulo IMO

can put on some good fights if you match him up correctly but he is very beatable for any of the top fighters in his Division

I love Maidana win or lose, he's an exciting fighter to watch.

Maidana is fun to watch, he has trouble with good boxers, as long as he fights the right fights he wins or looks good. From the first time I seen him fight (against Ortiz) he has been one of my favorite fighters. He needs to rematch either Ortiz or Khan, both fights could go either way.
Never understand why anyone would hate on Maidana, the guy fights his ass off, only seen one bad fight (against Devon), he is nowhere near a bum, the people that think Maidana is a bum are probably the same that think Gatti is a bum, they aren't the greatest, but they are world-class fighters.

KO ratios are useless statistics. Look at his first 20 or so fights. He just went on a streak of steamrolling bums. Big deal. And your putting too much weight on that Cayo fight. Fact is Devon shut his ass out completely and he struggled with ****in Chop Chop Corley. He's an exciting fighter but that's where it ends. He's limited and one dimensional.

Exciting, yes. But FOH with that talk of p4p potential.

The 10th round of Khan-Maidana still feels wrong. Khan was ridiculously protected every time Maidana got in range or hit him with a shot.

Before that. Remember the Raheem fight? What a disaster.

Maidana does fail every time he steps up, but that's no reason to hate on the guy. He's awesome.

People can say Khan was protected but he stood there and took it in some ways he ****ed Khan up the long term. He did a lot of damage!

i didn't like cortez involvement at all myself, but chino wasn't doing himself any favors throwing all of those wide punches

maidana was a top 10 guy at 140 when it was a solid division. he's been in with some good fighters and he's handled himself. the only fight that saw him completely outclassed was alexander. getting outclassed by alexander doesn't hold well, obviously, but he's been a solid fighter for quite some time now.

when they keep him at the top he is not a world beater, but he's half of a very exciting fight.

Nah, Maidana is more versatile than an Angulo. More movement, more head movement, greater arsenal, etc. They are comparable in heart only Maidana has never been stopped.

He wasn't at his best against Chop Chop, but he still got a clear victory. And knocked Chop chop down.

Kotelnik was a bum? Cayo? Petrov? Ortiz?

I said he could be p4p rated under the right circumstances. If he wins a fight against Guerrero for instance, then wins another big fight or two. He has the potential to knock anyone out. Brawler, boxer, or whatever. Such a huge component, heart and power, is never lacking in El Chino.

                    .
He had just moved up when he fought Devon. He looked the most sluggish and lethargic he ever has in that fight. He needed a tune up before fighting devon to acclimate himself to 147. The fight unfolded much the same way as the Cayo fight did, if Cayo had more power and better defense. But im betting if he landed that rib cracking shot on Devon that he landed on Cayo, things would be different. But Devon fought a smart fight agaiinst a very good fighter that was experimenting with a new weight.
