Kal Yafai - How good can he be?

6 fights since july, 5 stoppages including a TKO win over Spanish champion Perez who was fresh coming off a K.O win over Ivan Pozo

Scheduled out again in january & rapidly making his way through the ranks.

I am excited about this kid. His bodypunching is second to none. Unbelievably mature considering he is a novice.

He is very good indeed. Mr Hearn just needs to keep him grounded and moving along at a sensible pace. A promoters dream, but exceptional difficult to match make correctly.

A bright 2013 for this young lad, no doubt.

To me he looks about as good as its possible for him to look at the moment.

He has all the important things you look for in a prospect, balance, coordination, speed, shot selection and calmness.

Cant wait to see him step up!

as with most domestic brits, i'll wait until he fights somebody with a pulse before i pass judgement.

he's a solid puncher and technician. heavy hands on the kid, if i remembering who he is correctly.

brooks looked like the second coming of jesus until carson jones took him life and death. hell, even matt hatton was a step up for the guy.

Funnily enough, I've never being sold on Brook being brilliant. He's a decent fighter but I never thought 'special'. I even had Jones a slight favourite going into the bout. I do hope he can beat Alexander but I'm not anticipating superstar material.

As for Kal, it's too early to tell. He certainly has the talent but Naz had just as much (probably more) & his problem was he thought he knew more than his trainer (Tyson erred in the same manner) & just thought he could kayo everybody - thus neglecting the boxing skills that got them to the top.

I'll be watching as manner of his fights as possible - and telling everyone about him - but experience has taught me not to look too far into the future.

The kid is good he really is special, unlike kell brook. They should strip his Special K name.

I like Kal I think he can go all the way. He's probably ready for a shot at the British right now but I don't like seeing him get moved on faster than necessary.
