In fights, when you're taller/have longer reach than some one that appears similar in size than you but may be bigger[6-15lbs whatever], you tend to not care about his weight. You towering over the person gives you more confidence than the person outweighing you. It's a psychological effect. Looking up to someone is intimidating.

I'm sure somebody said Arce outweighed Donaire by 6lbs.

Donaire's rather undefined body creates optical illusions where he is always outweighed yet appears to be the one with an 15lb weight advantage.

In that picture, Donaire weighs 90lbs while Montiel is a Junior Middleweight.

Funny-ass picture. I posted this earlier, but no one has answered my question. Boxrec has Nonito listed at 5' 5 1/2" (Rigo at 5' 4 1/2"). Do we have any idea if this is accurate? Everyone seems to think Donaire is so huge for the division.

I'd say nearer the 5' 6 1/2" mark and he rehydrates to high 130s.
For tiny Narvaez he rehydrated to 134lbs I think it was first thing in the morning and was bragging about still having 3 meals to go on his FB so I can only presume he was around 140 in there.

What does get to me, how you can call a two time Olympic gold medalist a hype job. This is the most blatant disrespect toward an Olympic medalist, when this sport thrives off of experience.

Because they fight a little differently in the pros and he showed weaknesses in his biggest challenge to date, which shouldn't have been a big challenge at all.

I think people see the robotic stance and get fooled into thinking, "Damn, this guy is incredible". He's quite good, no doubt. But I haven't seen enough from him to justify the tremendous hype. However, I have seen enough to know that he loses to Donaire.

I don't bandwagon anything. I am not biased.
I am a critic of most of these hypejobs and have took a lot of flack over the years for speaking out on Khan and the likes.
When I tell you a fighter is a hypejob, I'm not being a troll or a hater, I'm telling it how it is.

I have seen enough of Rigondeaux and Donaire over the years and my opinion is set in stone, mark it down. Maybe I am a little too high on Rigondeaux but I like too think I know styles and can recognise talent.

As for Golovkin, I agree, its too early to say, hes fought one guy who wasn't even in the top 10.

Okay, let's say Donaire is 5' 6 1/2". That doesn't make him a giant, even in the junior featherweight division. Re-hydrating to the mid-high 130s could be significant, depending on the opponent. I've heard Rigo walks around pretty close to his fighting weight. The guy is ripped.

He is still a unit for 122 nevermind 118, 115 etc

I imagine he'd have around a 10lb weight advantage over Rigondeaux come fight night. Rigondeaux only rehydrates a few lbs. Talk of him hiring a S&C coach actually, Heredia is in talks.
