Gatti makes HOF and all the sudden this author says that the Boxing HOF has a standard problem? Where was this 'problem' last year?

Basically this whole article is boiled down to 'Stop liking what I don't like'

Great article....the boxing HOF is diluting what it takes to be considered one of the best in history. Theres no way either should have gotten, especially Gatti

We are a society of top 10 lists that mean nothing.
Every list is simply an opinion and everybody has one.

Gatti and Hill are as deserving as any pugilist.

Until YOU lace 'em up, do not think that those you feel cheated the process are less deserving.

Actually, I've been saying for quite some time that there's an issue with automatically letting in three per year.

By the way, I'm a huge Gatti fan.

And this article is an op-ed about why changes should be made, about flaws in the system that myself and other writers have noted for some time, flaws that are revealed with the lack of certain candidates even being on the ballot at all (Benn, Eubank, Julian Jackson, Iran Barkley, Diego Corrales, among others), and how that and the flaws in the system, including the nationality of the voters, led to two of this year's three "modern" categories being candidates that do not belong.

A Hall of Fame is supposed to hold a certain sanctity. That's why people question the inclusion of Johnanson, Norris and McGuigan.

Your last point is quite far off. Millions of people love Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao, but how few of them have laced 'em up? Does that mean that they don't know what they're talking about it either, or does your criteria only work for when someone is being critical?

I thought that the end of "The Matrix" was lame, but I've never made a movie. Clearly I shouldn't comment on the quality of a movie until I've financed a Hollywood production, acted in it, edited it and then released it for a worldwide audience.

Criteria should be best of their generation.

Have you been to the Hall of Fame? Gatti can be remembered in other parts of the building without being inducted in it.

Nonsense, it's called the "hall of FAME". Gatti will go down as one of the most famous fighters in the history of the sport for his efforts in the ring win or lose, plain and simple. He will be inducted and rightfully so.

Yea im fine with that, and it happens al the time. The actual physical HOF is about the history of the sport

And every Hall of Fame has two parts — the parts that commemorate the most famous and important people and moments, and the part that honors the absolute best of the best athletes.

We don't use the "fame" argument for fighters in other countries who pull in more than half of that country's viewership on television and bring in tens of thousands to arenas. We can't redefine the game just out of emotion for Arturo Gatti.

And as I said, I'm a guy with a TON of emotion when it comes to Gatti.

why isn't baldomir in? he was undefeated for 8 years. lineal WW champ in a division with cotto, margarito and floyd! beat 30-0 frank olsen, 20-0 joshua clottey, 25-0 hasan al, 21-0 alpaslan aguzum, beat hall of famer arturo gatti, beat living legend zab judah, he gets my vote. i would prob take out robinson or leonard and put baldomir in just so the hall doesn't get too crowded.

The only reason he isnt in yet is because there he can only get in 5 years after retirement and he just fought
