That is a good point. He has picked money over making history. No doubt. But, he is only human and a lot of other fighters from the past might have done the same thing had they been in the same position. We will never know though. Boxing has changed a lot in recent years.
Has any fighter ever been p4p for basically their entire career with 0 loses?

Theres nothing amazing about Floyds career and its all superficial, no substance. Its only amazing how he has cherry picked and ducked and dodged opponents for so long.Last edited by hugh grant; 12-16-2012, 08:10 PM.Comment

There's no doubt in my mind he is one of the greatest ever, and I rank him higher than post people. The only problems I have was his 2 year lay off when he should have at least fought Cotto at WW during that time and his once a year fights. But, I do understand he has hand problems and maybe that's one reason for him "pacing" himself over the long haul.Comment

The problem with Floyds career is that the list of guys he didn't fight is as long as the guys he did. I mean top fighters - and in a few cases great fighters that he didn't fight or when he did fight them they were past their best. He did not fight his single biggest rival either, and no matter what you say, that fact hurts Floyd more than it does Manny.
For natural talent he is right up there, but his accomplishments and resume don't stack up with the top 10-15. No matter how long he has been p4p. If some of the past greats like SRR could have afforded to fight once or twice a year and have long 8-12 week training camps with sufficient rest like todays fighters, he might have stayed undefeated too. Something to consider for the TS.Comment
